Coming To High School Essay

Decent Essays
The feeling of doing something different for years, seems like you're not harming yourself in the big world of wonder and unknown. You have to step out of your comfort zone and do something unique to relate the good in the world. Growing from a child to a teenager it is challenging to do something you haven't done before in life. Having to think before you do is harder than you can relate to. All of my slow uncertain life, of coming to high school is extremely challenging. You never want to do anything different, because you feel like an outcast in a school of fish. Never knowing when you can raise your hand to ask a question, or even asking if you can clarify the statement again, can be tauntful because you're afraid.
One long dreadful evening

Author Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. " I am a firm believer in this statement, because without taking risks and testing yourself, you will never prosper or change. You may be surprised to find that when you start trying new, exciting things, you become more alive and positive. This quote applies to certain aspects of my life, such as, school and sports. Writing was not a subject that held my interest in high school. I have seen a change in my pre-class writing style; I have honed my skills, and the different techniques I have learned while taking this course have only improved my writing style.…

Ralph Waldo Emerson, a famous transcendentalist author, once said, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. " Most people follow society's rules and never go beyond these rules, living a safe and normal life. I agree with Emerson because people only live one lifetime, people can learn about themselves, and learn about there surroundings. There is only one lifetime a single person can live, why not do all the things you are capable of in it. My parents used to tell me that I should never be afraid of trying new things, because you only live once.…

In high school, teens try to fulfill high standards, but not all can. A high school student’s mental stability is more valuable than the public education system. They are 15-18 year old students not geniuses. They should live their lives, and not focus on being number one in their class. Most schools, instead of lowering their standards, actually raise them every year.…

Through my experience, my freshman and sophomore years as a musician were terrifying. On top of the shock of the new atmosphere at school, I had to play my instrument with and in front of others, which was quite a stretch for me at the time. I would always beat myself up about minute mistakes I had glorified during rehearsals, playing tests, and especially auditions. However, after I did not make an Illinois Allstate ensemble my junior year, my approach to these nerve-wracking situations completely changed. Instead of thinking failing negatively, those uncomfortable experiences actually made me improve as I had taken more auditions.…
