As people all know that the war is cruel as it collapses the way how people used to see the world, everything is reorganized in mostly negative way. As the protagonist, Carrie, starts to realize that no one would really treat her like a child during the hard time of the war as everyone is suffering mentally or physically, so the only thing she needs to do urgently is to push herself to fit into the aldut’s world, which actually means that she is forced herself to become the adult indeed. The issue of coming-of- age is clearly presented through the protagonist, Carrie, as she is forced to deal with various kinds of incidents during the war. From the scene when Carrie claims to Hepzibah and Albert Sandwich that she does see a monster chasing her and her brother and later on find out that it is actually Mister Johnny. By using the third person point view in the story, it is the first time that the readers would perceive the notion about misunderstanding is made as people are just like Carrie tend to jump into the conclusion so easily without trying to realize what is really going on. Moreover, at the later part of the story when Carrie assumes that Mr Evans is actually the bad guy who tends to use all the schemes to get what him want and win the battle between him and his sister. Carrie chooses to believe the words from Mr. Evans’ sister, Mrs. Gotobed, is because she could only judge Mr. Evans from his bad temper and the way how he treats Auntie Lou and them. Even though Carrie eventually realizes that Mr. Evans is actually innocent and has nothing to do with all the schemes she has once thought. Therefore, from the examples above, readers could that the purpose for bawden to use the third person point view in this story is because she is trying to convey the message that people all tend to use their own way to explain and interpret all the words and incidents they hear from others without

The third-person point of view gives Smith's account a greater distinctive quality of authority - as if he is simply an observer to the experience he portrayed. His story involving Pocahontas could be used as an example for Smith to be unreliable. “Historians and ethnographers disagree about whether the incident happened, and if it did, whether Smith correctly understood its meaning in the context of the native culture.” (America Firsthand, 18) He uses embellishment to make this story more…

The narrative of a woman Throughout history war has been depicted as a man’s war. Rarely are women shown as equals to their male counterparts, or at least capable of defending themselves or their love ones. But the narrative of a weak woman is a false one, far from the truth that is shown in movies. In my opinion Pan’s Labyrinth is an example of how women are often depicted as weak and invisible during times of war.…
