High school is tough enough on its own, but imagine having to defeat supernatural creatures while studying for mid-terms! "In every generation a Slayer is born," is the tagline for the hit television show Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. The show is centered on sixteen-year-old Buffy Summers chosen to slay all the evil supernatural beings of the world. Buffy has touched thousands of televisions across the nation, not to mention the hearts of all the viewer’s tuning in every week to see this powerful young girl fighting monsters from left to right. BTVS is addictive from start to finish with its strong characters, real life scenarios, and feeling of empowerment. Sometimes I even compare myself to a character. For example, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the purpose of the character Xander is to provide comedic relief. How many people say something witty, or ridiculous, just to lighten up the mood? Xander might be the only actual human character on the show, but his heart is definitely not. He might not have extra-strength, or know how to create spells, but he would always be there for every character on BTVS, even the ones he hated. There was also Cordelia, the classic mean girl. Now there might not be any mean girls that were as … well, mean, as Cordelia in real life, but I'm pretty sure somebody popped into mind verifying just how relatable characters are. If there aren't any strong, appealing characters on a show then it won't be interesting enough to watch, and I believe that every viewer out there will agree that Buffy, the Vampire Slayer had the greatest character growths and friendship dynamics in all of television show
