Comcast corporation is an American broadcasting firm that has internationalised worldwide. By the observation from a company’s annual report, it is clear that the revenues it received make it the largest broadcasting company in the world. Comcast provides a wide range of telecommunication and media broadcasting (Comcast, 2015). Comcast is a company that has an entrepreneurial spirit with an international business mind which make it an international firm. Comcast, a number one international broadcasting firm has been long founded for over 4 decades. The company was first started by Ralph J. However, in 1969 it developed and renamed itself to Comcast in Pennsylvania. In 1976, Comcast was celebrated its 5th years anniversary and was announced firm to be a public company. In 1977, Comcast was expanding its reputation and production line to the western of Pennsylvania. In the following year, in 1978, the firm earned over $3 and this was the first biggest revenue it had ever made. Company profile Comcast Corporation (2014) illustrates that Comcast is a media and technology company that predominantly operates cable systems and they are the developer in production, distribution of all kinds of entertainments, as well as news. In 1986, Comcast has invested $380 million in QVC, Quality, Value, Convenience, a world’s leading video and ecommerce retailer that are offering goods and services for millions of customers worldwide. In addition, in 1995 it increased its investment in QVC to 57%, that is $1.4 billion. This integration is an example of international business where Comcast collaborates with another firm to expand its market. Comcast started its acquisition in the year 2000, with the acquisition of Lenfest Communications, lnc. In the year 2001, Comcast heavily did this activity by completed acquisition of Home Team Sports, AT&T cable systems, The Golf Channel, Outdoor Life Network, and High-Definition Television service. Consequently, by Comcast’s acquisitions it led them to be a leader in a cable-technology which they earned competitive advantages, and brand recognition. Comcast had been adopting strategies for maintain and overcome the barriers to new technologies in order to provide a sustainable service for their customers, and also to expand its organisation. It is added by Hovan and Popoviciu (2009) that the planning for Comcast to achieve its international activities are to implement IPv6, Internet Protocol Version six. Further noted that, by upgrading their technology to IPv6 will create a long term, sustainable and manageable solution for the firm. IPv6 allows Comcast to reduce risks such as risks associated with economic, network externalities, service interruption, and the lack of sponsorship.
