Combs High School Concert Report

You always remember the best moments of your life. They stick with you forever, and they remind you of how happy you were in that moment. The best memories I have are from my freshman year here at Combs High School. The whole year was amazing, but the thing that was most important was band. I was in the Marching Coyote Regiment, the pride of the school because the football team sucked. We took fourth place at the state championship at Glendale Community College, and we had the best music performance of the division three bands. We were sophisticated and competitive. We even won the Esprit de’ Corps for being a good audience and not participating in the frequent attempts at doing the wave. As much fun as that was, the best part of that year was the trip to California. I was a talented 8th grader who was hand-picked to audition on the flute for the high school wind ensemble, the highest level band class in the school. Mr. Leo Werner was the director at the time, and he was a fantastic teacher. He put me in the wind ensemble where I excelled in class. We played difficult grade four and five pieces like “The Hounds of Spring”, “Windsprints”, and “Dancing at Stonehenge”. The whole year, that class was the highlight of my day. My favorite part was the Heritage Festival at Fullerton College in …show more content…
The actual show started at 8:30 and was a bunch of dancing Disney characters singing until around 9:00 when Merlin appeared and started to announce the awards. Combs High School took all gold and all of the sweepstakes awards that night, and with winning the whole event, we were invited to compete at the Festival of Gold which would be held at Carnegie Hall in New York. That night I was the proudest I’ve ever been. I was part of the group that stole the gold from every other high school that competed. I was part of the most talented group in that

On October 7th I attended a concert by the Auburn University’s very own Chamber Winds / Percussion & Symphonic Band. They performed 11 pieces altogether that were all met with enthusiastic applaud and commendation. The first piece that caught my attention was “Broken Clouds”, a piece composed strictly of percussions, specifically the marimba, vibraphone, and the darbuka. This piece caught my attention due to each instrument having its own solo portion in the piece with a synchronous medley of the trio during the transitions; as well as the Indian groove-oriented intentions of the piece itself.…

It was held at the Redpath Hall, a building located on McTavish street. The Redpath Hall was first dedicated for a library building, but is now taken charge by the Schulich School of Music. The Hall is very charming with its high selling that contains thick dark brown carved wodden beams that covers the intire ceiling and gives warmth to the room.…

The most memorable memory I have during my time in a middle school was my eighth grade year. I just moved schools and knew a few people in my class. I started dating this boy at the beginning of the year because he was cute and we had a couple classes together. Our language arts teacher assigned our seats in class. Somehow she assigned our seats right next to each other—somehow she had no idea we were dating at the time.…
