Combat Lifesaver Courses

For several years, the training department in the 230th Engineer Battalion scheduled combat lifesaver courses throughout all of the units within the Battalion. There were several areas of inefficiency that took place. First, the combat lifesaver course is a 40 hour course with a certification that expires a year after completion. A recertification course has to be completed prior to expiration, otherwise the personnel loses the combat lifesaver certification. The recertification course is a 6 hour course. The training department did not keep records of the personnel and their certification dates. Every year, the training department would reschedule more personnel into a combat lifesaver course which would cause the units to lose personnel
