“Music can block out silence, on dark scary roads and in moments of loneliness.” Sometimes when that one perfect song comes on I can just feel all my problems disappear and in that moment I feel free of the world, I feel happy. “We’re told these days that the hottest and fastest wire into memory is our sense of smell, but music must run a close second. Some songs carry us into a certain mood, some to a general region of our past lives” One particular song comes to mind carried along with a past memory, which seems like it happened just yesterday. My one big never-ending crush and me happened to connect over “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift. Things went south between us and I was hurt, my life turned into black and white film with a story line of a sad depressed little girl. Driving down the road with the radio on and Taylor Swift comes on with her song, “Wildest Dream” my mind flashes back to the first time we have connected over this one simple song. At first I couldn’t stand listening to this song but after a while I seemed to get through it. My family had never gotten to spend lots of time together, with my dads work and us crazy teenagers always wanting to go out with friends, it was hard. I remember driving down the road one day while singing this particular song, I stopped and looked around at my family and in that moment I was happy, I knew this was my family and I couldn’t get a better one. Everyone would sing even yell out the lyrics without a care in the world. With all the fighting and arguing that goes around in my family, this one song had always seemed to bring us together. After it was over we’d all yell, “Again, again!” With big smiles on our faces it was a good time to
