German Village: Take a walk back into the past by visiting the German Village in Columbus, Ohio. The area was settled in around the middle of the 19th century and much of it has been kept the same way, to retain its colonial flavor. Also on the National Register of Historic Places, the German Village is one of the largest restoration sites in the world. Old coloial buildings and monuments dot this region, where every structure is under three floors in height. There is an unmistakable sense of community here and the contrast of the region with the rest of the city is stark.
