Kingsolver grabs everyone’s attention with the Columbine High School shooting to prove that extreme violence is never "senseless”. With that shooting it happened in the Columbine High School was a very tragic event in the United States. Kingsolver felt that adults were taking the blame of only the children. But mainly boys for wanting to pick up the guns and bombs and behave the way that they do. Kingsolver believes that it is the horrors of our society and challenges we take. Our history as a country has always solved our major problems with wars, dropping bombs, and killing innocent people simply for us to just prove a point.
