At Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999, seniors Dylan Klebold (age 17) and his best friend Eric Harris (age 18) carried different types of guns and homemade bombs into their high school. After passing the school threshold, they decided to begin firing targeting their peers, teachers, and other faculty members at that time, causing one of the most tragic high school massacres of all times. When all damage was done, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris committed suicide, leaving 12 students and one teacher of Columbine High School deceased, along with over 20 students injured (Columbine).

Changes in Dylan 's personality indicated some signs of depression as well. According to the text book “Juvenile Delinquency” Labeling (Social Reaction) theory is defined as a “society that creates deviance through a system of control agencies that designate or (label) certain individual 's as delinquents,” thereby stigmatizing youths and encouraging them to accept that negative persona or identity. Which is actually what Dylan and Eric did, took on that negative personal that their peers at Columbine High gave them. We 've all been a teenager before and know being a teenager is hard, especially since our society norms and morals are changing. Along with peers now and days becoming more aggressive and crueler, everyone handles being mistreated differently, as you can see it obviously drove Dylan and Eric to a place of a unbalanced mindset that made them lose touch of reality.
The text book “Juvenile Delinquency” also defines my second theory Social Disorganization as “the inability of a community to exert social control allowing youths the freedom to engage in illegal behavior.” In Dylan and Eric 's case, the institution of control was Columbine High School, which lead to their rational choice (perspective which includes getting some type of benefit from criminal behavior) or thrill
