Columbia Middle School is a great school. Just like every school though, it has it’s issues. One of our main problems is that most people in eighth grade, want to get in a fight for no reason. Many students get in trouble with the deans because of fights. Most of the time the only people that can stop one of these fights at the moment it is happening are the students. Personally, I have stopped a few fights. There have been a few people that have tried to get in fights with peers that I have helped stop so that there is not any more trouble. We cleansed the concession stand with Oxygen Orange which is an all purpose cleaner and can clean almost anything. Prior to heading to the location we gathered four wash rags and we each had our own bottle of Oxygen Orange. When we arrived to the concession stand it was an absolute mess.…

If Dinwiddie Middle School would let me change one thing about the dress code i think i would have to chose to change the policy about wearing a hood in school. I would chose to change this because sometimes having a hood on can greatly help students concentrate, sometimes it helps with headaches, and sometime students just get cold in school. I think that DMS should change their policy on wearing a hood in school. I think this because sometimes students think it is just a form of style.…

This year, as well as previous years, many students had to go to their guidance counselor and change things before the school year even started! Still, others waited until the first day, or even the first week before requesting changes. Some students reported having multiple gym and lunch periods, while others had classes in their schedule that were supposed to be every day, but they only had these classes every other day, making it nearly impossible for them to keep up with their peers. These students had to leave these classes, no matter if they liked the class or not.…
