A strong sense of community and the opportunity to participate in community activities is important regardless of where one lives. Colorado has many such options, regardless of religious affiliations or interests. Churches can be found at nearly every intersection and, in spite of their abundance, most have large, welcoming, and very active congregations. Secular clubs for every hobby or interest imaginable can be found with ease, and again, most have active and welcoming members. Denver has several well-known museums, including The Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Art Museum. There is no shortage of beautiful scenery, either; The Rocky Mountains are a prominent part of everyday life, and Garden of the Gods is a breathtaking National Natural Landmark. Churches are not as prevalent as in other areas, and the ones that are available do not have strong congregations. Secular clubs and groups are also lacking, and are mostly limited to large, well-known organizations, such as Girl and Boy Scouts for children and Toastmasters for adults. The public library system is far from up to par. The libraries in the system are very small and have surprisingly few books, mostly limited to New York Times Bestsellers from several years ago. They are often inexplicably closed on days they have said that they will be open.
