In today’s society, race and color are both compared and also contrasted often, but race and color are not equal (“Rascismnoway”). Race is usually known for hatred and negativity; on the other hand, color can symbolize emotions and can express feelings (“Rascismnoway”). In the article “Meet the Biracial Twins that No One believes are Sisters,” it tells a true story on two twin sisters, but one was considered to be black (because of her color), and the other was considered to be white (also because of her color). Obviously, since the girls were twins they both had the same mother and father, and it just so happened that one twin got the mother’s gene, which she was African American, and the other sister, who was pale and had red hair got the father’s gene, and he was white (Perez). No one would have known they were sisters, because of their color and they were total opposites (Perez). More than often, it can impact just an individual person or an entire family when it comes to judging someone, because of the color of their skin. Even if it has to do with choosing a leader, someone to be friends with, or even marry, color of skin should not be an issue or should let him or her determine how he or she feels about that specific person. It also teaches not to discriminate, because what he or she thinks about someone may not be true. Such as, Armand whom blamed the color of the baby on Desiree, because he is ignorant (Gibert), but really it was Armand who caused the baby to be biracial
