It is believed that each color is associated with each chakra. When a chakra is out of balance, the color therapist will use the appropriate color to get that chakra back into balance. For instance, if the spine chakra is out of balance then the therapist will use the color red to put it back into balance. Red's function in this case would be for grounding and surviving. The color therapist would use the rest of the colors to balance the chakras as follows:
To balance the lower abdomen or the gential area chakra, the color orange would be used. Orange's function would be for emotions or sexuality.
Yellow would be used to balance the solar plexus chakra and this color's function would be for power and ego
