Colonel Sanders “No hours, nor amount of labor, nor amount of money can deter me from giving the best I ever can.” Colonel Sanders said this because to him, it was not about how much money he was making or how much work he had to do, he would always try his best at whatever it was he was doing. With him facing many hardships in life, going through different near death experiences and changing the fast food industry, he deserves to be more well known and have a higher status in history. First, for his many hardships. The first reason as to why Colonel Sanders, or his real name, Harland, deserves a higher status in history is because he faced many hardships in life. Some may say that he does not deserve more status because he is only a fast food icon but, he had to go through many hardships in life before reaching a break. Some may say that the food is not good but, the millions of dollars KFC has made shows that many people enjoy the food. KFC.com states that it the resteraunt revolutionized the fast food industry. People were used to being able to get a hamburger and fried in a fast food setting but, KFC changed things up by selling fried chicken instead. Not only is KFC huge in America, BBC.com says that even places like Japan love their Kentucky Fried Chicken. In Japan, KFC is a holiday tradition just like how we have our traditions. So, the world loves what Colonel started, and it’s greatly appreciated so much, there are books on Colonel and his chicken. GoodReads.com showed a few of these books which include, “Life as I Know it Has Been Finger Lickin’ Good”, “Incredible Colonel” and, “Colonel Sanders and the American Dream”.
