Colonel Graff Characterization

Decent Essays
The characterization and diction go very well with the story that the author has written. Colonel Graff is very controlling, which is showing that the government is in control, which is what they need in these troubled times. Ender never had authority over himself, he had been controlled since the moment he agreed to partake in battle

“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win”(Tzu). Warriors that win first and then go to war spend months, maybe years, preparing for war. John Perry from the novel Old Man’s War by John Scalzi and Ender Wiggin from the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card both exemplify this prepare first mentality, which comes out in their battles. Perry practices patience before he attacks the Rraey by studying how to kill them, then uses his new two shot technique to obliterate the Rraey forces. Ender wins first in a different way.…

    51. Enders leadership style is that he is hard or brutal when working with his group but when individually he is passionate and patient.
