Colombia Education System Analysis

Education is an intricate part in the world today. Every nation must take strides to educate their citizens or future generations will be surpassed. This is especially true for many Hispanic countries around the world. This paper will provide an analysis of the education process and education opportunities in both Colombia and Mexico. Colombia is a large country located at the tip of South America and is home to over 48 million people. The education system in Colombia differs greatly from the education system in the United States. According to Information Colombia, the education system in Colombia is made up of a Primary school, Secondary school, Universities and Technical training. Unfortunately, in Mexico, the need to gather income for the family is valued more than education. According to the article, Education in Mexico by Tulane Edu, the education system in Mexico consists of Primary school, Middle school, high school and University. The education system is quite similar to the education system in the United States. Although, the United States does value the education of their citizen with much greater importance. The Mexican government does mandate that children go to school through grade six. After grade six many children leave school and enter the workplace in order to provide for their families. This places a great disadvantage to children in poorer families because they are not able to stay in school. Also, only children in wealthier families are able to attend universities. All the structures are in place for education in Mexico but not all have the privilege of being able to attend.
