College Student Success Research Paper

There are several characteristics needed to be success in higher-level education. There are both negative and positive characteristics that college students in the U.S. possess. The negatives seem to be a growing epidemic in the U.S. today as we see more and more dropouts. Education is a major key to success in today’s society. But, why is it that we see so many college dropouts in our youth? While every student enrolled in college hopes for academic success, however some fail because they are unsure on how to be successful or they do not have the key characteristics in store. Some major negative characteristics are procrastinating, complaining, and a lack of responsibility which are majorly affecting college students. Procrastinating is one of the biggest issues seen and, it could mostly be seen in freshmen or students who lack time management skills. Having poor time management is makes being successful in life much harder. Students with bad habits such as procrastination should work on assignments when they are assigned and get ahead on all class work to enhance their time management skills. Another bad characteristic that shows how the negatives are a growing problem in college students is to have is the nature of complaints. Students who complain about work tend to be negative. Being negative takes a huge toll on achieving personal goals. One who tends to be negative should look to see that the glass is half full in all circumstances in their life to better their mindset. So, what if more enrolled students had the right amount of positive characteristics? The answer to that is that the U.S. would see a growing number of percentages in fields that would help this country
