The main subject that I’ve chosen correlates to regulations being changed in regards to payment of college athletes. I would focus my attention on the NCAA governing body, government and the public in a persuasive paper to achieve a wide-ranging group of onlookers who may have a concern in this matter. I chose this subject because in light of the facts of this issue I accept change in how the NCAA view amateurism needs to be modified. Additionally, how its governing body should compensate the student-athletes for their services while in school is necessary for today’s landscape of big-time college sports. I likewise have a son who participates in college athletics, and I wish to help encourage change.…

When a college athlete gets into trouble, it is important that the school issue a statement as soon as it can because the public will usually form its own perception about the event in the first 24 hours (P. Pedersen, K. Miloch, & P. Laucella, 2007, p. 280). Being a student athlete is a wonderful thing in high school, despite a lot of people only acknowledge the athlete part and not the student part. I believe that academics come first and if a high school student wants to be an athlete, then getting good grades should be a requirement. It should be mandatory for teachers and coaches to check the grades of student athletes weekly to determine whether students are performing academically well or not. The students that aren’t doing well should be dismissed from any further games and practices until their grades improve. It is important that student athletes maintain good grades because the work that they put into their school performance carries with them through life, putting too much of an emphasis…
