Reflection The aim of ACR (Academic College Readiness) is to provide all students with the proper tools and necessary information to prepare them for success in college and beyond. ACR`s aim is to also assist students in their regular high school courses and in standardized testing such as the SAT and the ACT. This course has some basic rules. The two basic rules are to complete the assignments given by the instructor and to maintain high grades. I think that I contribute to the environment because I follow the basic rules and attempt to help other students with their academic work. I also try to remind other ACR students about some assignments.
I use ACR to my advantage by applying some tips that were mentioned in the class into my college

To earn an associates degree from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) one must take and pass certain classes in order to transfer to a four year institute. One of these many classes is ACA 122-College Transfer Success. It is a one credit course designed to help students who are new to the world of community college and transferring to succeed in the future. For me personally I was not so lucky. This is my last semester at GTCC so this class has been a bit of an annoyance rather than helpful, because a large section of the class is geared towards planning out one’s course schedule for their remanning semesters at GTCC.…

My responsibility for this workshop was to proceed with a handover of a patient to an intern (played by Dr. Michael Adamson). This was a particularly disasterous session. My performance was not only unfit within the scope of academic criteria, but was clearly short of acceptable for a real-world SBAR. During the reading of the scenario I was daunted by the task of having to SBAR report a patient to admission at a hostpital, based on information I was reading for the first time; my practice with the hand-over system was minimal prior to the session.…

RC1 Reaction Comment Lorrie Thomas, The first day of class was so informative and I experienced emotions from surprise, interest, fear, humor, sadness, etc., as explained in this reaction comment. There are many justifications as to why I decided to attend American Public University (APUS). The three main reasons: I want to be an encouragement to my children, I want a solid career foundation, plus enhancing my education will also help me to improve my own self-assurance. Establishing a positive atmosphere, and being an example of encouragement for my children is the most significant reason for my decision to attend American Public University. I know it will be a challenge, but I want my children to understand that it is easier to struggle to further your education, than it is to struggle enduring poverty from lack of a degree. Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. (online unit 17) The focus of education appears to be about the grades and progress…

The course AFAS 160 D1 is my first online class, and until now I still felt lucky to choose this class as one of my general education classes, because it gave me a great opportunity and an eye-opening experience about learning the African American Culture which I have never learned before and also gave me a chance to learn online.
