For centuries college has been the next step after high school. However, many families and students are starting to believe that college is too expensive or just not worth it. Although college may leave the graduate in debt, it is still worth the cost. College is worth its price because, first of all, it can educate its students in multiple ways. Apart from just learning subjects such as math, science, English, and history college is also a pace for a “well rounded learning experience” (Source B). College develops the mind and produces innovators. Going to college helps an individual to be able to use the resources they have and turn it into something beneficial; for example, leaving one’s comfort zone and deciding to start a successful business in a different country. College is not just about receiving a higher education but also the possibility to expand one’s mind. The amount of money one pays to go to college is worth it because graduating from college allows people to earn more than those who did not attend college. Scholarships are amounts of money that can go towards a students college education and decrease the amount of money needed to attend college. Scholarships range up to a “full ride” where a person's college education will then be free. Moreover, financial aid is also another option for many students. Taking into account financial aid and many public four year colleges were only about 2,000 dollars (Source D). Financial aid gives many students that may not be able to pay for college a chance to still be able to go. For example, my sister attends college for free because of financial aid.
