The Value Of College Life

Many people believe that attaining a college degree is a necessity in today’s world. While others think that spending four more years to get a college degree is an absolute waste of their time. High school was such a tremendous part of everyone’s life. You made some of your greatest memories there with lifelong friends, learned how to stick up for yourself, and be a part of something that you will cherish forever. The greatest part about high school was that it was at home and you were well acquainted with the majority of the people in your hometown. You are hours away from home, you don’t know anybody there, you’re thrown into a completely new system, and you have to live in a dorm room that is smaller than your living room at home. It can be a very hard transition for some people, and I was one of those people. I come from a very positive home-life and I thought that college was going to be a breeze for me. When I was in high school, I was a three sport athlete and was loved by the community very much. I am a very outgoing person and loved to meet and talk to new people. The day that I graduated I was so happy to get out of my small town and take charge of this new challenge called college. When I was growing up, my mother always told my brother and I that we are going to go to college to get a degree for the job of our dreams and live a happy life with our own families. I have always thought that college is not a waste of time because that is where you are going to figure out what you are going to do with your life.
