College Influences

College is an option for people all around the world. Many things can influence people to go or not to go to college. Some factors that affect myself and others around me are TV commercials and shows, money, and friends and family. My reasons to go to college may be similar or different to others. One of these reasons is to have a career in Counseling and be successful. According to my interviewee, Antonio, “ I decided to go to college rather than going straight into the workforce so that I could have a high level position. “ I agree with his statement. The idea of me being successful in the future because of my college degrees motivates me to graduate from college. Most people who are rich and successful did go to college and receive their degrees.Some careers like cosmetology may not require college degrees. However, counseling definitely requires college degrees. According to my interviewee, Antonio, “ Yes.

My interviewee, Antonio stated, “ High school and college are different in the sense that you would actually have to manage your work because no one else will do it for you. Classes in college meet like 2 days a week so you have plenty of time to do work unlike high school. “ Because i procrastinate a lot, being in college should help change that. Being behind is not a good look and can leave me stressing and doing last minute work or studying. Although it is more responsibility in college, knowing how to do things on time will not only help me to graduate but also teach me some responsibility for life after college. Since i do not plan on going to college in New York, going to college down south would teach me how to not depend on my family and become independent. I would have to worry about my school work myself and other important things like my safety and how to manage
