As the clock ticks, I wait anxiously for it to hit 3:23 P.M. All I could think about was football practice. My first game is tomorrow and I am overwhelmed with excitement. Forgetting to pay attention in class the teacher calls on me saying “Sabin, what does the m stand for in y=mx+b?”, me being clueless I look at my notes. Being lucky, another student answers saying “m is slope”. As the bell rings, the teacher comes up to me saying “Next time pay attention instead of looking at the clock, time will pass by faster”. I carelessly just nod my head and walk away. I race down the long hallway and down the stairs to finally get to the varsity locker room, meeting up with my friends Brian and Alex. As we walk in we hold our nose, trying not to smell …show more content…
Me being the only one without new, flashy, and cool gear, I get a little jealous. Being done with changing I run out with my other teammates that are also ready. As we get to the hallway, we see other student athletes that were in other sports talking to each other. While we pass the several students in the hallway, the students look at us. Being on the football team was a dream for me and, finally being on the team, I felt like I was on top of the world while running down the hallways. But I didn’t imagine it the best way. As we continue running down the hallway, students cover their nose, girls screaming “ You guys smell!”. We finally reach the door and get outside. Feeling the cool fall breeze I get goosebumps on my skin. Finally reaching the football field with two minutes to spare coach tells us to warm up. We do the usual warm ups we learned back in summer camp, while the coach made the late teammates run sprints down the field. As practice goes on I notice one of my teammates brand new gloves. I remember them from a store I went to earlier in the summer to buy my cleats. They were the top wide receiver gloves out on the market and were very

Sitting in the confines of the Miller's Ale House in Tallahassee, I positioned myself in perfect position: on the outside seat of the long, wood bench seat in perfect view of the matchup between the undefeated Green Bay Packers -- my team -- and the San Diego Chargers. In closer proximity was my feast. Nachos piled high with cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, chicken and salsa; cheese curds, a Wisconsin favorite and a tall glass of Angry Orchard hard cider. I set my self up dressed in my old-school, long-sleeved Ray Nietzsche jersey in honor of the throwback jerseys the Pack was wearing from the 1930's and 40's. Soon kick off was upon us.…
