College Essay On Student Debt

Everyone struggles with student debt, but the key to paying it all back and not getting to in over your head with all the loans and debt is being smart with your money. When it comes to college make sure you know how much you can afford and what it too far out of the budget. In order to avoid huge loan debt as a student I will focus on colleges that are reasonable in price and not too far out of my price range but also offer my major. I will research schools and make sure they are a good fit before attending and paying money for a school where I’m not happy. I will look at colleges and see what scholarships are offered at each one. I will apply for as many scholarships that pertain to me. To be able to pay back debt you must first come up with a plan of action, and stick with it. I started working at a young age, first starting to do little things, such as watering a neighbors’ plants while they were out of town or dog sitting. Then I began babysitting, which soon turned into nannying. My mom taught me how to save my money and she helped me open my own savings and checking account. Every time I would get paid I was taught to put half in savings and use the other half as spending money. Later, on my own I decided to increase the amount I would put into my savings account therefore allowing me to better save my money. I was sixteen when I was able to buy a good used reliable car.
