First, despite what my LSAT scores imply, I believe my application makes a compelling argument that one can reliably predict that I have the ability to do very well in law school and as prospective attorney. It is a process that requires both a certain amount of humility but also a sincere understanding of one’s abilities and sense of vocation. I have had a wonderful experience working in the Legal Department at the Knights of Columbus for the past two years. I have been mentored by lawyers who represent the very top of their craft. I have been able to experience first-hand the life of a lawyer and how they scrutinize and think about legal issues. From this experience, I confirmed what I want to do with my life. Two years ago, when I was a senior in college, I lacked this fundamental understanding about myself. I applied to a few law schools and to a number of jobs. Although I was admitted to the wait list at Columbia Law School, I was not sure at the time if law school was right for me. After two years of working with lawyers and taking time to really think about my life goals, I have firmly come to the conclusion that I want to be a lawyer and I will do everything in my power to achieve that goal.
