The crowd is watching intensly as the gymnast soars over the vault and scores a perfect 10.00. The crowd goes wild! Gymnasts have to work hard to accomplish the difficult tasks of competing at gym meets all over the world. It takes a strong commitment and a positive attitude to become a competing gymnast. Gymnasts train for many hours of the week, the risk of injury is very high, but the rewards are worth it. Gymnastics is an amazing sport that provides many values, but there are challenges too.
Anyone that is interested in doing gymnastics learns that gymnastics means exercise. The skills require muscle power, and lots of it. Gymnasts spend much of their time just doing conditioning. Conditioning means doing things like pushups, pullups,

It takes a long time to develop the strengths and skills to do it well. A gymnast can easily find themselves frustrated when they do not see immediate results. It is important for the gymnast to remember that failure is useful because it teaches them what their weaknesses are. On the other hand doing well on a skill can lead to overconfidence, which can cause problems too. A gymnast won't do their best without a positive and healthy attitude,
Besides a positive attitude, one of the biggest challenges a gymnast will have to face, is the possibility of becoming injured. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport and it is true that most gymnasts will suffer an injury at some point. By focusing on training and listening carefully to their coach, the danger is minimized. The truth is that many injuries heal quickly and let the gymnast get back to competing before too long. Dwelling on the possibility of injury will only take away the gymnast’s focus and make those injuries even more likely.
Gymnastics opens the door to many other opportunities in life by teaching positive values. Although there are potential dangers in the sport, proper training can minimize their potential. The skills that make a good gymnast, such as a positive attitude and good time management, also tend to make a generally successful person. Overall, gymnastics is a great gateway
