Some people have called my injury, or problem, a curse while others have said it has been a blessing. I don’t agree with either. Although I have felt pain, I have also progressed. My rotated pelvis has caused me to see a different side of gymnastics, one that I have to learn to work around. Unlike my friends and fellow teammates, I can’t just run and flip, I have to watch my gate, make sure my feet aren’t tuned in, make sure I’m not throwing my right foot to the side as I sometimes do, and focus on my breathing. It’s a lot to think about while also focusing on hand placement, power, steps take, body placement, and so on. But I deal with it and learn to use it to my advantage. Yes, it set me back in gymnastics, but sometimes I can’t help but think that it has somehow helped me. Maybe not in gymnastics itself, but in life. I learned that you should fight for what you love. I also learned that when live gives you a challenge, don’t run away. Work with what you have and seek aid in others when needed to conquer the challenge, as best as you
