Double standards against females occurs everywhere, in schools, work, relationships, and everyday life. females are viewed as sex-symbols, but are seen as a whore or slut if they choose to express themselves in a certain way. Which is not ok, advertising companies use slim and fit females to sale products, the consumer can even sometimes remember the product, but can recall that there was a female in a bikini, this has been going on since the 1980’s.
Females are catcalled, exploited, raped, sexually harassed, seen as toys, not taken seriously, and put into a ‘box’ of stereotypes. Younger females in school aren’t allowed to express themselves in certain ways “because it’ll cause/be a distraction for boys,” but boys should be able to control themselves and females should not have to be the ones held to a standard. Males are allowed to walk around with no shirt on but if a female were to show a nipple it’s considered explicit and needed to be blurred.
There is also a major issue in the modeling industry for females. Females in this industry are more often put into skimpy outfits or in bikinis while males are almost always fully clothed. This also occurs in commercials for children's toys, when companies are trying to sell a product to females it use, ‘beautiful’ caramel to light

How ever you raise your child, or however you tell them how they’re suppose to be can cause them to act a certain way or become the stereotype. Not all men at this way but a majority does and in the 21st century it seeming to become common to act out and not be a gentlemen or nice person. With the internet and its negativity, it’s too common to see rape stories, or stories about men doing something that would not benefit women, something that is or will do the complete and otterly opposite. The solution to this issue is to not allow people to make others seem lower and

Think about all of the famous names of different pop stars, singers, actresses and models that a person can name off of the top of their head. Now, think of how many of those people can be considered for more than one of those categories. Flexible markets allow for this by letting various companies change their workforce in terms of demand. If a product (in this case a person) is doing well in one market than we can tweak them to sell a similar yet slightly different product to a different market, for maximum profit.…

Stop raising boys and girls, just raise kids! In a perfect world, I think there would be very few differences in terms of how we parent boys and girls. Take out all of that, you’ll find that boys and girls are not that different.…

Here at Springfield College where I attend as a female student, I have realized that there is severe overtreatment, as well as under treatment, but sometimes even equal treatment of males compared to females in the classroom/labs, dorms, gym, cafeteria, extracurricular activities, and any other places where institution sponsored events occur. There happens to be a greater amount of cases where males are treated superior to women, rather than the other way around or equal- in my opinion. Granted, everyone’s opinions will be different and their perspectives on each situation may change, but by living here for a semester I’ve got a good grasp of what I believe is going on. At Springfield College in Cheney dining hall, men are treated superior…

While society sexualizes young females, schools shame them about the exact same thing: clothing, establishing that women are always under prioritized when it comes to education. Consider how many times a female is called out of class just because an article of clothing was deemed ‘inappropriate’ and it never stops, not even after graduation. When it comes to dress codes, schools live by the motto that ‘men are easily distracted and women are at fault for that’. Schools enforce harsh dress codes on females while letting men play victim to skin. In my own experience, I got in trouble for wearing an elastic choker because that piece of stretchy material determined how sexual I got with a man.…

Objectification is perceiving a person as an object, being less than human. This research focuses on the objectification theory which states that in western cultures, women's physical appearance is a primary basis of their worth, but this does not pertain to men. The researchers hypothesized that women should be perceived as less warm, moral, and competent when focus is on their appearance. Also, that focusing on a man's appearance should not similarly induce objectification. The researchers conducted three studies that included the same conditions and methods to replicate the study for better results.…

The moral philosophy of feminism is a big part of today's world socially. Women feel that they are not treated the same as men on a social level considering that men do not receive the same consequences that women do when they do not accept their traditional gender role. In “Feminist Criticism” an article by Lois Tyson from 2006, Tyson talks about what traditional gender roles are in today's society. She compares the ways in which men and women are seen in society and how women can be seen as “bad girls” meaning they don't accept their gender role. The traditional roles are seen as girls are emotional and weak while men are strong and rational.…
