College Essay About Playing Softball

When I look back I see times when I could’ve made a better choice and other times that I wouldn’t change a bit. Playing softball with MJBSA is a choice I wouldn’t want to change. I’ll admit there were times when I wished the umpires had a better understanding of the rules or the other team would tone down the drama but overall MJBSA and my coaches did a great job. It is through softball that I saw my parent’s dedication. Softball also strengthened my relationship with my family. At my games, my Mom was my biggest fan. Every game sitting right next to her was my Grandmother. My Sister played up so much with my team she felt like an actual teammate. My Dad every year was my coach. It taught me to always have fun no matter what, to never give up, to always do your best, and to not be prideful.. Most of the MJBSA teams I have been on have been average skill wise. We would have good nights then we would have awful nights. It is through these times that I learned 3 important fundamentals for life. They are (1) To always have fun, (2) Always do your best, and (3) Never give up. My last two years of softball are proof that these are important. 2 years ago, we had to play a triple-header to win the championship. After losing the night before we were determined to win. In the end, never giving up and doing our best paid off with a first-place trophy. Playing softball with MJBSA was certainly a privilege.
