In the meantime, I think the best thing for me to do, in order to improve my academic life, ironically, is to take a leave of absence from my studies. I am not aware of any implications that this decision might have on me other than prolonging my college career, but I think that it will help me in the long run. Taking time off will help me refocus my priorities and decide upon a befitting major for me. Also,it will allow me to deal with my current responsibilities without the tremendous pressure of school deadlines. On another note, I have decided that it is time to start reaching out when I need to. I think that getting in touch and keeping contact with my academic advisor will be the ultimate step to improve my academic career. I took the initiative and scheduled a meeting with my advisor to discuss my current academic standing, the semester leave, and what to expect going forward. I have been completely and utterly unsatisfied with my academic performance, and I do not think that I have lived up to my potential in the last couple of semesters. Instead of continuing this chaotic and fruitless momentum, I have decide to take a break and reevaluate my choices. With this, I can reflect on the past and prepare for a better academic future.
