The opportunity to earn a college degree is not worth incurring student loan debt. Students should consider applying for scholarships or grants to cover their education. To earn a college degree is not worth being in debt because incomes are decreasing tremendously, tuition rates are continuously rising, and not all children of degreed parents will go to college. One reason a college degree is not worth incurring debt is because some students may not have a plan as to how they are going to pay back the loans. For example, a college degree can benefit people by having more job opportunities, influencing children to attend college, and community benefits. People with degrees may have job opportunities, but all entry level jobs have low pay with or without a degree. As a result of recent graduates getting entry level jobs, all pay checks would most likely go towards loans. Not all children of degreed parents will go to college. Children in a family of college graduates may be pressured to go into college and not be successful. Finally, a specific level of education is not needed to volunteer and help others in a community. So, even though some people might think a college degree is worth getting into debt, ultimately, there are negative effects that can result from student loans.
Getting a college degree is not worth incurring student loan debt. Graduates will experience some detriments in result of taking out student loans. Student loans can cause graduates to have a decreased income. Tuition rates are continuously rising, which makes it difficult for graduates to pay the loans back.
