Individuals that believe education isn’t worth the benefits it provides are usually not prepared for their future involving their career. It’s stated that the jobs that progress the quickest “require at least a college degree” (College Prepare People for Life, 260). Going to college provides a promising job with a salary that is higher if an individual wasn’t to go to college. Because of this, college graduates are “winners” in the “competitive society” (260) today. Students that attend college have been considered as “monolithic” meaning that they have the competitive edge over the “average” students who don’t attend college (260). This isn’t about having a better job or higher salary. It’s about college “preparing people for life” (260).
