Deciding on whether to go to college or not is a huge step in becoming a functioning adult in the world that we know today. And that is the thing, we get to decide. The whole point of going to college is to get a degree of your choosing. You will not meet a single person in college that did not go there by someone else 's choice but their own. I was not one of those people that wanted to go to college. It didn 't appeal to me as much as it did my friends and family. I was not huge on spending money and 8 years of my young life in more school, because let 's be honest, high school was awful and I didn 't want to go through it again. After a while I realized that the only way I can make any of my dreams a reality is that I needed to do exactly what I didn 't want to do, but it was still me who made the decision to actually go.

I did not want to waste my time or money, of which I little of both. I was working practically 40 hours a week and I was still struggling to make enough money for all my bills. How on earth was I going to afford books and classes along with paying car insurance and rent? Of course, financial aid was always an option, but that did not pay for text books or supplies. I would sit for hours thinking about how I was going to manage my time so I could attend college and then a miracle happened. I got a huge job opportunity where I would be making 3 more dollars than I was now and not even 2 months into this new job, I received a promotion and another raise. With that, my hope of being able to afford college became much easier to
