In my case I have experienced the sense of feeling like an outsider and I can say that this movie indeed does relate to my freshman year college experience, because I was a young black woman who went to a predominately white college. I think this movie does a fantastic job in depicting how African American students feel about particular issues and topics that they may feel uncomfortable to openly discuss. Not only does this movie bring up controversial topics, but it also incorporates non-minority students stances on particular issues, and how their interpretations about controversial topics and issues as well. Even though a vast amount of organizations are inclusive in regards to race. The sense of feeling as the “other, the “outsider”, and simply the feeling of belonging to an racial group that other races look down upon and judge more harshly has not changed at all. Caucasian individuals still make ignorant comments on campus, and have their own opinions on controversial topics that include African Americans’ lives. There is simply and issue or racial tension that would never fade away not matter what environment individuals may be residing especially in college, where individuals thinking process is
