The passion that I have for technology began to prosper at age five when I received my first cellular communication device, as a gift, mostly for safety purposes. After this, I began to collect cell phones, and shortly thereafter I got my first laptop, followed by my first PlayStation 3, my love for technology grew on and on. Before my first day at Tennessee High School, I knew that I sought to take as many computer-related classes as possible, and that is exactly what I have done. However, it was not until I had classes with a teacher named Mrs. Del Gaudio that I knew for sure Computer Science was the profession that I would be working towards doing for the rest of my life. My passion for technology began …show more content…
Oftentimes I heard other complain about how dull the assignments were, or how they were tired of the assignments. I however was having a wonderful time in the class and conquered every single assignment. The next year I signed up for a class called Foundations of Information Technology. This class was very intriguing and taught me many things about both software and hardware that I had not previously known. I decided it was immense for me to continue this series of classes because this is when I first started to notice that it could be a lifelong career. Foundations of IT was followed by Computer Systems. Computer Systems broke things down even further, but mostly it included other aspects that were not t just limited to what computers themselves can do. This class taught me about printers, projectors, and many more components that are both essential and non-essential. There were only three of these classes at the time, and having already taken two of them I was referred for a helpdesk internship with one other student. During our teacher’s planning period, it was our job to manage the helpdesk and to help the students in need while she was away. We never had any issues and overall the experience was great. It gave me my first look at what this career would be like without an instructor carrying me through it all. Finally, I took the class of Networking. I have not much to say, …show more content…
Del Gaudio. I have chosen this career mostly because it is a passion that I have, but also because we live in a digital age and the world needs millions of people like me who know how the technology works from the inside and out. Otherwise, there would not t be anyone to fix the many issues that can occur when dealing with computers and related systems. Because of this vast need, finding a job in this field is almost guaranteed. I know a lot about this career already, I know how the Graphical User Interface works on computers, as well as the Command Line Interface, BIOS, and the hardware of course. I know many things about computer related systems, such as printers, projectors, scanners, and some other things. Plus, with my networking experience I also know a lot about what it takes to secure a computer for internet use. I also know that this field requires teamwork and communication skills. The one question that I still have is: “Is this a career that people enjoy doing for the rest of their lives?” I would like to believe the answer to that is
