College Athlete Criticism

For the simple fact that all people have a cynical side to them, college athletes receive as much criticism as professional athletes do. This could be for a number of reasons and can be done by a number of people, but the fact is, a college athlete will get some form of criticism in their college playing days. The only difference between the good players and the bad players in this scenario, is the amount of criticism they will receive. The major places a player can receive criticism can include, from the media, from their fans, and the biggest distributor of criticism, the haters. Haters are a group of people that's only purpose in life, is to bash whoever they're hating on, no matter what they are doing. A hater can drive a player insane, as they heckle them from the sidelines, or when they see them on the street, or by using the most recent advancement in hater technology, social media. But it's not just haters that get involved in calling out athletes, it also comes from professionals who know what they're talking about. Because most of the action is behind the scenes in a college athlete's life, all the public gets to see is the glitz and glamour of the actual game. This is why athletes all across the country strive from the moment a ball is put into their hands, to play a division one sport, and this is why it's a parent's dream to have their son or daughter's school paid for. Even though what waits on the other side is hard work on and off the court, plus influences and criticism that might be a struggle to block out.
