College Admissions Essay: What Motivates Me

When people say, "What do you do on your free time." I would reply to them saying, "Lots of things but mostly engaging with many sports." Like many student-athletes in this world, I have a spark. A spark that motivates them every day. The spark that makes you get up in the morning and you are looking to be attending it. My spark was playing sports such as football, soccer, and basketball.

To begin with, maintaining adequate grades has always been one of my top priorities. Just as important, participating in extracurricular activities at school has taught me quite a bit through the years. Running up and down the field gave me an excitement to keep pushing forward. Many people disliked sports if they were not good at them. What motivates me and till this day is if I am not that decent at a sport I try harder to become better at it. A sport I've been playing since I was about six years of age. What got me into football was my uncles'. Again in my household, we were all athletic. Although I worshipped sports, I still had to maintain a C average in school. That wasn't difficult at all for me. The reason for that is my most favorite sport out of all the sports I ever played. Therefore, getting good grades would help me succeed in what I cherished doing. Football is my spark either I'm on or off the field I still have the outburst for it. As my middle school years went on, it was tough for me to keep up with sports because football and soccer were in the fall season. Competing in football as well as soccer was challenging for me, but it didn't stop me at all. As the season went on, first going to soccer practice then immediately after I would go to football practice. I had to keep in mind that maintaining a C average would let me stay playing
