I find those who build their lives and personalities around these things to be boring and annoying, and I don't care what they think. …show more content…
When it’s a few people giving me grief or laughing at me for something, it’s pretty much fine. I’ve dealt with bullies before, and I can deal with it again. That’d be fine. It’s not, though; it’s the entire surrounding culture. Everywhere but Computer Science, everyone around me does it, and sometimes I have to wonder sometimes: have I really made the right choice? People think I’m quirky. It’s not that I possess any eccentric talents, a unique sense of humor, or idiosyncratic mannerisms, but instead my quirkiness is a carefree, vivacious, grab life by the lapelles kind of attitude. This approach to life encourages confidence in being outside the box, daring to be different, and doing so unapologetically. Although I embody this today, this trait manifested in response to rejection and self-discovery. Growing up, I was a shy follower, conforming to the norms of my peer group.…

Jordan Introduction: I was born in a racially and an ethnic diverse nation and a decade after my birth I moved to a less diverse racially country. And because of this, I have come across gender, racial or ethnic stereotyping almost every day. I have come to a realization that the more societies tend to differentiate themselves from others, the rate of discrimination in that society is much higher. This creates a mentality of Us Vs Them, that we are better than them. The society generalizes small groups of people based on what they have seen on the media, and media has ways of influencing the public mind by spreading the never ending dividing propaganda in our societies.…
