College Admissions Essay: What Makes Me, Me

Decent Essays
What makes me, me? A lot of things make me the unique person I am today. I’m a very educated person. I’ve always been the one who put her schoolwork before anything else. I don’t enjoy myself or feel stress free if I don’t have my homework done. Not only that, but when I started high school I was an A and B student, and to this day I have kept it at that rate. I’ve hit a few bumps, but overall I’ve been doing great. I was on principal’s honor roll freshman year; high honor roll for sophomore and junior year. So you can say I’m a really dedicated student.

I’m also a person full of surprises. For example, people look at me and see a girl who’s quiet. As well as someone into pop or something spunky, and doesn't really do stuff for fun. Actually,

One thing that I always hear about myself is how much of a balanced person I am. At first I thought this had to do with my physical ability to balance and that wasn't it. The balance that I identify with is the ability to balance time and effort between my academics, my athletics, and social life. I find myself doing this better and better every year, as I am faced with more strenuous work loads and more responsibilities in my athletics. The teachers and coaching staff at renbrook have helped me become a lot more independent when it comes to managing my own time.…

Identity paper: Societies View on Me In this day and age everyone is judged, judged by strangers, by friends, by essentially everybody based purely on their appearance. This judgment stems from multiple sources, the way certain types people are portrayed in movies, ads, etc. I don’t believe there is any type of person out there who isn’t stereotyped on one level or another, it is human nature to assume things about people based on what we see in the media and other sources. The fact is, many of these stereotypes are not as prevalent, or in some cases nonexistent within whatever race or type of people they are stereotyping.…

Who am I, this seems an easy question to answer until I must include my cultural knowledge. Culture is the cumulative deposit of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religions, notions of times, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the universe, and material possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through individual and group striving(Samovar & Porter, 2004). When I reflected on the identity wheel to define myself, I was able to identify what is most significant to my life. Parental status, education, marital status, gender and age were all key areas to who I am. I am a mother with two sons and they are what I base all my decision making off of.…

I think what really makes me 'me ' is my cheerfulness and sense of humor. I am a fun guy to be with, usually the one in my group to crack witty and hilarious jokes from time to time. Being funny not only helps me to make good conversation with other people but also to ease off the pressure in difficult situations. Whether it was when we had to study until our midnight for our exams or stay awake until 4 o’clock in the morning to make sure our high school’s annual magazine got finished that day, I have always tried to make the atmosphere as calm as possible for myself and others by making humorous talks. I’m a people person.…

Who am I? A question that would made you think well and might puzzle you out. Describing yourself is harder than describing someone because there are some areas in you that you are not certain of such as characteristics, personalities, and attitude. Also, there are things that other people would notice while we can’t because those things are the things we do that we are not conscious about. Talking about myself, I am Noreen Joyce F. When people ask me to describe myself, I always draw a blank, I never know what to say, I’m caught off guard because I don’t really love talking about myself too often because I am someone who likes to listen rather than to talk. I always have to think about what I should say to make a good impression on whomever is asking me the question. There is a lot about me that you can see by just looking at me; I have short brunette hair, I’m short, hazel eyes, I’m quiet, and more. However, there are certain personality traits about me that every single person I know on a personal basis can tell you; I am candid, I am shy, and I am very loving. I am candid and by candid, I mean I am always very truthful and frank.…
