The people that were nice to me, without knowing what was going on fixed me and were beneficial to my well-being and the thought of who I was going to be in the next ten years saved

The author explains how she always obeys the law, never does drugs, and does not cause trouble. However, because of her “friends”, she was caught in a bad situation involving the police. Just like the author, I have never done drugs and I am always obedient to the law.…

When I was young I viewed the world as an awe inspiring place where miracles could happen. As I grew up and started to comprehend the harshness of the world around me those feelings began to change. However, with continual support from my family, friends, and teachers I have preserved some part of that innocence. In order to remain morally sound, I have focused my goals and values on being the best person I can be. One of the ways I accredit keeping a person on the “light side” (a little Star Wars reference given the new movie just came out) is attending church.…

I look back and recall a peculiarly funny yet pitiful memory of brother and mother sharing a McChicken because we were so penniless. Given the circumstances, my parents would appear to be merry for the sake of my brother and I by giving us hope for a better future. This unnatural display of emotions coming from my own parents fueled my motivation to become successful. As years passed I began to notice and analyze even small details of the world around me which, despite being ordinary and routine, was intricate.…
