College Admissions Essay: The Last Five Years Of My Life

Improved Essays
In such a short amount of time I have been accomplished much through school, church, and extracurricular activities. In 18 years I have lived in three different houses, attended four different schools, and have become interested in theatre arts; I have been through many, many pets and witnessed the funerals of many family members; I have attended Governors School, one of the most prestigious things for a high school student to do; and have loved every minute. It is truly crazy for a person like me to think of where they will be and what they will be doing in 15 years, the possibilities are endless, but if I needed to sit down and decided or create a plot of life I would have to start with the beginning. In the next five years of my life I see myself as a person that will grow into a greater theatrically inclined person and striving to still be better, still see the limit is nowhere in sight. I will be still a person who has just freshly finished college and in the search for the career of a lifetime. This career that I’m looking for right now looks like a job teaching students how to project their voices and carry a message across to an audience using their bodies and props, how to use stage makeup, how to stage manage, and have fun doing it. Teaching; being able to spend time on something so valuable to your own self and then giving it to students in hope that they take the value with them. Then one student does see the value and take it, all the work pays of and it makes all the difference. In addition to a career search, I might have indeed found the love of my life in college. I would want us to graduate first and start to make a plan for any money due to anyone, after this I would hope that a modest proposal would be answered with a straightforward ‘YES’. In the five years after marriage we could have a kid, or two, that we would change, and burp, and change, and sing to, and love, and

Only Time Will Tell Have you ever wondered where you’d be in life if it wasn’t for that special someone? Well, if it wasn’t for my younger brother Alex, I would more than likely be in a very dark place in my life. When my brother was only two years of age a school bus ran him over. The impact of the school bus running over a portion of his body almost killed him right in front of me. I was only six at the time, and I can’t help but think, if he didn’t make it through that accident on that horrible day, how my life would been completely different now, and not in a good way.…

It is difficult for a person to pinpoint what their purpose is. I see my purpose as making a difference in someone else’s life, whether it is a complete stranger, someone in my family, or an animal even. It does not have to be the biggest gesture, but it would be rewarding to help out in whatever way I can. In Damon’s Path to Purpose, he states that, “...absorption in purposeful tasks may be strenuous, it also brings a deep sense of satisfaction, well-being, and exhilaration.” I know that it is not easy to fulfill a purpose, however, I also know that no matter how hard it gets or how long it takes, the end results will be rewarding.…

Value Summary I would like to begin by stating that I don’t like to predict the future. Each day I worked towards the future by bettering myself in both a professional and personal way, but the goals related to that are fairly vague. Because of the many bumps and unpredictable events that I have experienced I’ve learned to stop micromanaging my future and go with the flow of the events without deteriorating my drive for my long-term goals. Although, if I was able to live out my ideal life and accomplish all of my career goals then this would be that story. I am obsessed with experiences and want to enjoy as many different opportunities as I can in order to expand my knowledge and understanding of myself and those around me.…

I’ve always been very indecisive when it comes to making any kind of decision. It could be the simplest choice of what to eat, and I will still contemplate it for the longest time. So when people ask me what I want to do for the rest of my life, it kind of throws me for a loop. Some days I want to be a stay at home mom who just takes care of the house and kids, and other days I want to be a successful surgeon who is constantly on the move and constantly helping others. For now, I think that I have found a happy medium to the two extremes of my future plans.…
