College Admissions Essay: The Existence Of God

When I was born, I was baptized as soon as possible. I have always been a Christian, I have believed that there is a God for as long as I can remember. I believe that I am a child of God and that once I die I’m going to live with my Father in Heaven. God has made the world and everything around the world and everything in the world, at least, that’s what I believe. People do bad things in their lives, but I think that if you’ve got God in your life, you’re doing pretty well. I believe that God will always love me and if I do something wrong, (which has happened a lot and will continue to happen throughout my lifetime) I can ask for forgiveness and if I truly want forgiveness, God will forgive me. I’ve never really known anything other than Christianity, that’s just what I was raised on. I’m pretty involved in my church and I try to go to youth meetings and activities, but lately I haven’t felt like going. My family used to go to church every Sunday, then get breakfast while me and my siblings stayed after service for Sunday School.
It’s always been a part of my life and I often wonder what it’s like after death. Is there really a God? I believe so, but what if it’s just dark? Like a deep sleep without dreams. What if it just ends after we die? Is …show more content…
It’s pretty cool when I meet someone that doesn't believe in the same thing I do. I will definitely ask questions like “Do you pray?”, “What does your God do?”, or maybe “Where do you believe that are you going after you die?”. I’m a curious person, I usually ask a lot of questions when I learn something new. When people ask what I believe in, I tell them that I believe one day I’ll go and live with my Father in heaven and have eternal life. I tell them that I believe that one God has made me and every other person and animal that walks the Earth.
