The longest sport that I have been playing, golf, has become a part of me—in my soul. To me, golf is more than a sport; it is a lifelong journey of training to temper myself both mentally and physically. Playing golf opens my eyes to observe the world in a unique way, and it lets me taste the bliss of striving. The Georgia State Golf Championship in my sophomore year was one of the most memorable experiences that influenced me by not only contributing to my interest in golf, but also building my character and teaching me life lessons. It did not push me to the road of being a professional golfer, but it instilled the spirits of a golfer within me.

I have been playing golf since I was six years old, but the last season was the first time I truly found myself in this sport. I did not care much about golf before I decided to come to United States, so my score was not good enough for competing. Although I had several achievements during my freshman year, I know my scores about 100 were average in my age that were not remarkable. After this first season experience I found a new determination for the sport. I practiced hard during the next summer and prepared for my sophomore year. The golf course had become my second home. When this season started, I was ready to improve my golf skills and also make some great friends. I started loving this sport with my fantastic teammates, who improved a lot from knowing nothing about golf to finish eighteen holes in a match. Refusing to be slack at practices our team worked hard to continue their path of improvement, even the harshest of weather would not stop our passionate practices. I remember once right after the snow, we played the next day. Although the snow melted by the
