Nervously, I walked into the airport and I was going insane! It was going to be my first time on a plane. I had lots of mixed emotions that day. I was excited that we were going to Orlando, Florida to visit Disney World, but I was also terrified of riding that plane. I had no idea on how I was going to survive a two hour plane trip! With my luck, our flight was delayed, meaning that my nervous anticipation would last longer. A part of me wanted to get it over with, but the other part was still frightened. It is a weird mixture of fear and curiosity. The time has come, and I am dying inside. My family and I are about to board the plane. “Everything is going to be alright” is the mentality I had in my head. We all had our plane tickets

From the distance I saw lights spinning in the dusk, I heard a tune as if someone was waiting anxiously for a jack in the box to pop out, and the smell of fresh popcorn found its way to my nose. At age nine these sights and sounds were part of movies and television, but now almost ten years later I was heading to my first American fair. Jitters that seemed to be stuck in my lower stomach while I restlessly waited in a long line to enter the fairgrounds resembled the feelings I had the first time I ever stepped foot on American soil. The feeling was of anticipation and uncertainty, but I loved this sensation because I knew I was about to embark on a journey that would be unforgettable. My family made the decision to pack our bags, leaving our…

The next call was about thirty minutes ago and he was demanding to know where I was and why wasn't I picking up the phone. I was going to call him back…

In my elementary school years, my peers bullied me, reason being why I used to be very shy and antisocial; I still am an often quiet and reserved person. Despite that fact, there was something paradoxical of my own personality: I enjoyed performing. Whether it was on-stage with an audience or at home alone, I always had a thing for singing my guts out and dancing like nobody's watching. I still do, but I’ve only realized this now.…

There is a certain thrill and anxiety linked with growing up. As my sixteen year old self was beginning to feel a pressure that propelled me into the real world, her habits of just doing the surface level of work and relying on others would be pushed. She would need to become an independent woman. I was not much different from who I am now, not even six months after my life had advanced a level, but all the same I am completely different. I’ve become a more passionate person with more self-discipline and confidence than I’ve ever had.…
