Albert Einstein once said,” Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving”. My junior year at Godinez confronted me with many obstacles that tested how responsible, creative, and dedicated I was. As a student, I did not know what I was capable of until this year. I did not comprehend that hard work is needed to succeed. I did not understand that the only obstacle that is preventing me from succeeding is the fear of failing. As I look back on my junior year, I am able to see that I have established a role in the community, and have enhanced my work habits. I am thankful for all the complexities that may have interrupted my path this year because they are what have allowed me to become a liable and devoted student. …show more content…

I believe that this year, I have really improved in accepting my weaknesses and knowing that is okay to ask for assistance. This year proved to be a test to see if I was capable in managing my assignments and activities. Responsibility is another aspect of my academic life that I refined this year. Taking multiple advanced courses served as a test to see how I would manage my time and to see if my work quality would be enhanced. I have often stuggled to do assignments ahead of time, and instead tended to procrastinate. However, I feel as if this school year, I have been more responsible in the way that I study for exams, and give back to my community. I have learned that in order to become a responsible individual, you need to know your

When I first started university, I had to go to an advising session; while, I do not remember what it was about, The one thing that managed to grab my attention was when the advisor said “I can spot a freshman a mile away” when someone asked her how, she replied” just search for people who look lost and confused”. It struck a chord deep within me because I was really lost and confused, not only that but also anxious, friendless, and afraid of all the responsibilities and of the possibility of failing. While my family assured me that these obstacles are the key element in becoming more responsible, and overcoming them will allow me to discover my strengths and weaknesses. I, on the other hand, felt like these obstacles were not character builders, but more like energy and time consumers that affected the academic performances and health of both my peers’ and myself. I strongly believe that fixing these problems should be one of the university’s priorities.…
