It all started innocently enough, just some idle thoughts being discussed among friends. We talked about time, space, the meaning of existence, etc. However, during the conversation, I came to a startling conclusion, “nothing we do in this world can matter”. If human beings are mortal and, are destined to die, why do we do anything in this world? After asking myself and my friends this question, I was disturbed that none of us could come up with a sufficient answer. However, when one thinks of it logically it is the only truth in the universe. Human beings by nature are mortal creatures, this much is obvious. No one can avoid dying forever, and when we die the only thing left is our works and the memories of those who know us. So, one may conclude that the things we do matter because they can influence the world around us. Unfortunately, the effects we make, from a universal point of view, are inconsequential and infinitesimal at best.
