College Admissions Essay: My Passion For Drawing

Improved Essays
My passion is creating a picture of what I see in my mind on a piece of paper with a pencil, pen or crayon, also known as drawing. My love for the arts was set on creating images that were thought of and putting them on paper. I always drew what came to mind from what was seen from a movie or television show. I enjoyed drawing things or characters that interested me and I was free to draw it however I wanted to, although I always wanted the drawing to be as perfect as possible. After watching the sequel to Jurassic park when I was 7 years old, I did my best to draw the scenes with the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Velociraptors. Back then, drawing was different to me as a child who had not known about the history of it in the fifth grade. Drawing …show more content…
Both my parents knew how to draw before and after I was born. I did not know of the skill that was in my blood until I saw the little, but mind blowing drawings my dad had drawn before. When I last saw my dad, he drew an awesome picture of Spongebob Squarepants. This would be a legacy worth committing to. My passion for drawing also took me to learning more skills than I already knew. A Drawing 1 class was taken during freshman year, here at Lemoore High School. That is where I drew my first portrait of a person. My passion led me to meet plenty of different kids with the same talents and skills, but their ways of using such skills can be done differently. There are really talented kids in this world, some are here at Lemoore High School. Drawing also took me to coming up with new ideas and looking for new things to draw. I started watching different animated shows only to find characters I was interested in drawing. Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti says, "An artist must have his measuring tools not in the hand, but in the eye." (The Drawing Source Drawing Quotes). I found a few tools and I will find more to draw as I go on toward the future. I can use what is known and I will continue to draw as many pictures as possible. Drawing will make a path toward new things and new …show more content…
This passion is called drawing. I was in love with expressing my inner thought onto paper. I really took a liking to drawing when I realized I could draw whatever I wanted to when it came to my mind. I loved to draw because I can draw things the way I see them, differently. Drawing became my passion when I began to watch favorite shows or movies and I learned how to step by step draw. The real history of drawing motivates me because it was a part of those artists’ lives and to this day it is a part of mine. Drawing utensils and paper has it’s costs, but using them to draw anything freely is absolutely worth it in the end. As I progress through my future I will use my passion in any way that is possible. This passion can take me anyplace where I have never been to and meeting people I have never met. I believe that if I move forward with my passion I can be able to more than I already know how to do with my passion. With this passion, I will make the best meanings out of all the pictures that can be drawn and I will make them all stand out. Drawing will show people around me of what I am capable of doing with my passion. I can hold onto my passion of drawing and I will continue to keep my passion growing as I grow along with it. Making my way to the future my passion will continue improving with everything that I intend to do with

I found joy in getting my hands messy with the paint and then transforming a white piece of paper into a something more than that with a rainbow of colors. In school, I always made sure to take all the possible art classes that were available and would fit my schedule. I also began to get more in involved in after school clubs such as the National Art Honor Society and the SmART Club where we did several art projects every week. On my last year of high school I decided to challenge myself and I took AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio.…

An unusually fragile underclassman: devoid of faith and fearful of a new environment brimming with the cold embrace of the unknown. “What do you like about yourself?” Sitting in the audience, listening to an assembly during my freshman orientation of high school, this existential question hit me like a tidal wave—initially destructive yet ultimately metamorphic. Those around me blessed with a wealth of confidence from a young age beamed with vanity: athletes, scholars, musicians and those exceptionally precocious few with the ability to thrive in multiple environments.…

When I was younger, people constantly told me to follow my passion. They would always say that if you did, it would help guide you towards your dreams and ambition in life. At that time, I didn’t know what passion meant and how passion played a role in anyone’s life, not until the beginning of seventh grade I finally began to understand why passion was so unique and different for everyone and figured out the meaning of passion through my passion for acting. I never really discovered it until I decided to take theater as one of my electives that year (seventh grade), instead of woodshop class. The only reasons why I decided to take it that year was because I had curiosity behind what it felt like to become a performer.…

On my youthful insistence, we returned to that dinosaur exhibit many, many more times. I was hooked; and, as a social being, I wanted to share my obsession with others. So, for my kindergarten career play, I donned a plastic pith helmet and khaki attire, extolled the virtues of paleontology to my audience and told them with conviction (and a touch of stage fright) of my plan to be a paleontologist one day.…

Having an understanding of art goes hand in hand with passion and talent (skill) and having these in your fingertips will see you pulling off incredible ink art. However, as much as you have the skill to be on the pedestal of success, learning about art takes time, patience and practice. You especially need to have a sound and creative mind and couple this with putting down your sketches on paper trying to make it as unique and appealing as possible. Some artists go to such extents of…
