To travel and be a lover of the arts may seem like a wrong career choice to some, but to me that is all my heart, soul, and mind desires. I became acquainted with this love when I attended a school that received a large amount of foreigners each year. While interacting with these students, I became curious about their origins. Although previously hearing about other lands outside of the United States of America, it never interested me to learn the customs, people, or territories of those countries. While listening to my peers’ descriptions of their countries, awe started to rise within me; I wanted to explore, so badly, the majestic locations earth had to offer. My first opportunity was offered in my second year of Spanish class; I was asked by my teacher to take part in a study abroad trip to Costa Rica. On our trip we learned some of the …show more content…
Having exposed my eyes to such beauty, I became inspired. I was also amazed at the intricate details. This was not the first time I was exposed to art. I took one year of a fine arts class, but this was the first time I was exposed to Latin American art. Art, no matter the style, is beautiful to me. For me art expresses emotions that people cannot describe with words. Some might say that having a pre-professional career requires a tremendous amount of skill and labor than having an art career. Art requires the same amount of skill and labor just like any other profession. Art requires imagination, feelings, and for artists to submerge themselves into their works. Art posses vast symbols and various meanings to everyone, but depending on these the values, emotion, and life the mastery chapters will differ from person to person. Not only will I major in International Studies, but I will also take up Art History to go in deeper pursuit for my love of the arts. Since majoring in those two categories, I know that I will be happy and satisfied with my work

"Ai Weiwei: Without Fear or Favor." My artistic talent, in comparison to past classmates and relatives, has always been overshadowed so subsequently I had little desire to develop whatever talents I did possess. Notwithstanding, I’ve always wanted to be able to sculpt, paint, and draw with the same ease and beauty those past friends and teachers had shown. Moreover, I’ve always enjoyed museums and art galleries or anything that enhances my overall knowledge in various cultures and their histories. Furthermore, I love to travel and I feel that an environmental submersion into a culture’s art and history can provide an increased appreciation for their diversity altogether.…

College is a life changing investment that prepares for life and career. The vast spectrum of knowledge, skills obtained, and experiences from a college degree more than compensates for the monetary cost of tuition. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Learning how to communicate through illustration is a valuable skill that will live with me for the rest of my life and progressing my artist career.…

But my best friend was the exact opposite, he was down to earth and a much more logical person.…

Two summers ago, I experienced an epiphany in the Contarelli Chapel in the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. While I am certainly not the first to have had a revelatory experience there, mine was not of the religious kind. Rather, mine was the illuminating realization that my path leads where my dual and symbiotic passions for history and art have been inexorably guiding me my entire young life. I have long been fascinated by the past and drawn to museums and other repositories of the past. The first time I breathed the chill conditioned air of the American Museum of Natural History, my father had to lift me on his shoulders to give me an unobstructed view of the fossil remains of a triceratops.…

I do not know who decided to paint the building violet, but I owe them a debt of gratitude too large to pay back in one lifetime for sparking a lifelong passion inside me. The heat from the stage lights, the watchful gazes of the audience, and the sweat dripping off of our faces as we struggle to remember our lines, these sensations of being on stage are what caused the performing arts to become not only an activity, but also a passion and an unexpected source of personal growth. Through my experiences in drama and music I have been able to discover my own meaning of fulfillment and define who the person behind my appearance truly is. My passion in the performing arts started when I was a young child first learning to play the violin. Picking up the violin at the age of 6, I became stuck on one of the most basic songs for almost a whole year. At that time no one believed that I could play the violin, my teacher thought that I was too hyperactive and even my mom attempted to convince me to quit.…
