College Admissions Essay: My Goals In High School

Improved Essays
As I grew up, I had always established goals for myself; some goals were not as significant as others. However, one goal that I have had in mind since middle school was to attend an exceptional institution that has outstanding academic standards. As I proceeded through high school, I realized that education was crucial in strengthening your brain and the knowledge that you acquire. Too me educating yourself, gives you many windows of opportunity to improve your future. I have always felt that education is an excellent way to get out of an uncertain situation. For me, going to a good school, such as TCU would give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge; also, it would allow me to get out a small town for once and get to live the city life.

My undergraduate career to date has been a process of reacquainting myself with my strengths and values - and learning about the possibilities open to me - that culminated in choosing a firm goal: becoming a psychological counselor. Since making that decision, I have worked to develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to build a solid foundation for graduate-level training, and now seek a Master 's degree in counseling psychology in preparation for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
